Kailey’s Impact

  • “Your content has taught me a lot about accessibility and the scope of what that entails - the texture of the product, the shape, how something might seem easy to open for some but may be difficult for others, etc. And how many ways both big and small a product can be made accessible. Your content also makes me more knowledgeable when I go to Sephora or Ulta and I can intentionally shop and support brands that meet my needs while also being accessible and meeting the needs of others. I've also been able to tell other people about what I've learned from you and I just overall feel smarter and like I'm able to help others in a new way. Especially with beauty, like I know the struggles of finding products that work for you and having to deal with people being like "well it's not made for you so get over it" Like no, we shouldn't have to get over it, we should be allowed to want to use products that everyone else loves and have them also meet our needs.”

  • “I’ve been a product developer for a brand for 8 years now and I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t know much about accessibility before I met Kailey. Just by following her and chatting with her, I’ve become a much better product developer because I can now see how different packaging and formula choices can affect people with different levels of mobility. I’ll be forever grateful for the work she does, and anyone who works in the beauty industry can benefit from her knowledge.”

  • “Kailey is amazing! I have chronic migraine and I am very sensitive to bright lights and strong smells, they can make an attack I’m already having much worse or trigger me into sensory overload. Having these two restrictions has made it hard to go into certain places, specially Sephora, which is so frustrating as a disabled person who just wants to explore makeup and colors. I reached out to Kailey after failing AGAIN to go into this store thinking she might have a few tool ideas for me to try. She was so helpful and sweet. I ended up wearing my special migraine sunglasses and a K95 mask with peppermint essential oil(which is one of my only safe scents) in it! These solutions worked perfectly the next time I went to Sephora and I was able to shop and actually enjoy myself without the fear of a migraine attack.”

  • “As a makeup artist for 10+ years I can truly say I’ve never thought about packaging in the sense of accessibility. Kailey has truly opened my eyes to the need for inclusive packaging and how little changes such as the shape of a lid can make a huge difference for someone’s ease of use!”

    - Evian, @eviandoesmakeup

  • “Kailey is the first person who’s made me truly think deeper about accessibility within the beauty industry. As a current beauty school student the knowledge I’ve gained from her will absolutely be taken and used in my work to help clients, especially with home care. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful regardless of ability and Kailey helps people achieve just that!”
